A quick guide for chaplains, ushers, and students.
Open Admin → Events. Click New event and pick a template (Vespers, Friday Night Prayers, Sabbath Service, Week of Prayer) or choose Custom. Set the date, start and end time, location, and grace windows.
Grace-in means how many minutes after the start still count as on-time. Grace-out means how close to the end a student must stay before it counts as leaving early.
Go to Admin → Live Scan. Pick the event you're running. A huge QR appears on the left — put a tablet or laptop at the chapel door showing this screen. The QR refreshes every 30 seconds automatically, so old screenshots won't work.
Each student opens the app on their phone, taps Scan chapel QR, and points the camera at the tablet. The browser asks once for camera permission — after that it's instant.
Scanning again toggles them between IN and OUT, so bathroom breaks are handled automatically.
On the same Live Scan screen, the right side is a camera view. Click Start camera, then point the usher's phone at the student's printed ID card QR. Attendance is logged instantly.
Print ID cards from Admin → Students → ID card or from the student's portal.
Admin → Records shows every scan filtered by student, event, or date range. Click Export CSV to download the data for spreadsheets or grading.
Admin → Settings controls the passing threshold (default 75%), how many minutes after start count as late, and how much of an event a student must be present for it to count. You can also reset all demo data from here.
Any number of admins can be signed in on different devices simultaneously. The duplicate-scan cooldown prevents the same student from being double-recorded even if two ushers scan them at the same time.
